We are looking for volunteers to help make Pixelache festival 2014 happen in early June! Pixelache Helsinki 2014 will be an international 2-day trans-disciplinary event focusing on the theme of “The Commons”, including bio-, urban culture and knowledge commons topics. Adding a new island to its logbook after Suomenlinna (2011) and Naissaar (2013), the festival will take up residence on beautiful Vartiosaari, a nature island surrounded by eastern suburbs of Helsinki, during 6-8th June 2014. Helping hands will be needed in advance of and during the festival.
We are looking for help during 31.5-6.6 to build sustainable infrastructure on Vartiosaari. The collective Hellowood from Hungary & Mikko Laajola from Pixelache will be leading the construction talkoots.
We will also need help in basic tasks such as hosting and transportation (we need arms for rowing people over to Vartiosaari!) and info desk.
In addition we are also looking for people to help in more challenging tasks – setting up installations, assisting in video documentation, etc. Getting involved in Pixelache festival is a unique opportunity to experience a major transdisciplinary arts event and to contribute to its success. As a volunteer of the Pixelache festival, you will have the possibility to meet and connect with interesting people from all over the world, and most of all have fun! If you are interested to participate in Pixelache festival as a volunteer, please contact office((a))pixelache.ac, explaining a bit about your skills and in what way you would like to be involved, and your availability during the last week of May and first week of June.
